Hello hello, it’s another month of late entry. The positive spin as usual is that it’s a half month closer to the next chapter. This picture here is not a before-and-after shot of someone who had gotten hair transplant, but rather it’s when someone would’ve commented, “Man, you’ve aged terribly”. Have heard some complained about how this chapter is a waste of time, and “get the heck to Shingashina for the love of ” , but I disagree, which I might elaborate later on, if and only if.
Timestamp: 3 months 2 weeks and 10 days ; hm…this is questionable, did they go find Mr. Shadis the following morning? Let’s just assume so.
(Mr. K.) Panels count: 10+ (maybe 12)
Synopsis of chapter: Eren asks Keith Shadis to tell everything he knows. Shadis in turn gives a story of Prof. Snape and How-he-met-your-mother - and it wasn't Jean who sabotaged Eren's 3DMG (duh!)
So Jean is a dad now.
they have PTSD
thank you for filling us in on the details – this wasn’t the a good place for Sasha back then
“fate”, I think is part of this chapter’s theme
now what if they didn’t come here for meal
Eren’s mom before she was a wife
he’s obiously a regular
the past-past commander?
it’s really a strange mess of relations
what can one say…
wait, had he even told her ?
so now she has kid
the day the wall fell
his title of “tool” begins here
and so Eren had no memory of this jii-san
dun dun dun..
It’s great how this chapter manages to tie in Shadis’ character into the main plot. Even though he claims how knows nothing, we did from his story, learned how Eren’s dad came into play of the whole plot for the series.
Some might compare this to a character in the HP series. There are similarities, it being he’s been looking after his past love’s child – in the absence of that child’s father. The difference though, Shadis and Grisha weren’t nemesis with each other – I think that makes it worse, because it was Shadis who “introduced” him to Carla.
Slightly surprised by the fact 10-year old Eren had no memory of Shadis when they met at the training camp. Either he has changed so much in look, or Eren was too traumatized to remember anything from that day – although one must think they have met more than a couple of times before that day (wall maria fell).
Now I wish Isayama won’t kill him off. Too tragic. Just let him live his life in peace.
Oh, I think it’s just me, but this chapter makes it feel if Grisha’s concern for Eren is not genuinely of good-will…
News on the anime? Gotta find those pages!
