Sorry jiisan, you don’t look helpless enough for Jean to miss the kill; though one can say Jean had learned his lesson back in chapter 58…but then, the two situations are different, at least here, the old guy’s not in “venerable” position. Oh well to make things easier, let’s just say hands have been dirtied.
1 month 2 weeks and 7 ? days ; the has got to be one of the longest day.
(Mr. K.) Panels count: 11 (he said.. “ah” )
Synopsis of chapter: The team carries out their plan, using smokes and such as distraction and cover; this allows them to close in on the CMP. CMP are idiots when it comes to close combat, and so they get slaughtered left and right. Kenny's right-mam escapes with what's left of her team by injuring Hange. In the other room, more talks between Rod and Historia, mostly telling her some Reiss history.
you might think they are safe being on the outside
Levi: Looking good.
pocket sized mirror
we see in this chapter which roles Jean, Connie and Sasha plays within the team.
compare this to the other panel on the same page
he probably works better with knives
he is trained to go for the neck /or nape.
this would be a “miss” if that’s a titan
this would be a big “miss” if that’s a titan
you wouldn’t know what this is about without looking at the full picture
Kenny the showman
Gotta say thank you to that CMP girl in chapter 58; because she provided the opportunity to hit some sense into Jean, without causing serious physical harm. Without that incident, Jean would probably still be hesitated in killing any humans, even lethal enemies. But as I have said earlier, maybe also that scenario in chapter 58 was the “perfect storm” to make Jean hesitate. I am interested to know what are his thoughts after this mission is over – Isayama does not need to spend half a chapter on that though (even though I personally don’t mind), wouldn’t want that becomes haters bait.
Anyways, happy that Isayama didn’t type casted Jean’s character to be a weak-link; because we know he is not, and this chapter shows that. Once he puts his dilemma aside, he’s probably one of the more capable mid-close range fighter in the group – not that there are many candidates to choose from.
Aha, I forgot Erwin was leading a team to the scene in the previous chapter. I am guessing they might appear as back up? Oh no? Why? What situation would need for a back up? Alright, back to worrying mode. lol…. (but then, maybe the backup team will be in trouble. who knows? There’s still a Kenny as the wildcard)
Tired as hell. Rest time!
