only in manga

A list of what appears only in the manga chapters, and NOT in the anime episodes…
List will be updated as more chapters have been animated.

C03- (technically) second altercation

This scene was omitted and/or modified in the anime.
In anime (E04), it was Thomas Wagner who gave the pessimistic words; Jean was just sitting alone drinking. (whole scene takes place after the top 10 were announced)
In the manga (C03), Jean was celebrating for being in the top 10; exchanged arguments with Eren in front of the graduating 104th. They have another (however this was the first time to manga readers) fist fight – which ended with Mikasa hauling Eren away like a child.

C17- (first) altercation (flashback)
c17p30
Jean and Eren have an exchange of words after Eren did that Annie-move on Jean. No lines in the anime (E04), just stills

C18- after training (flashback)
c18p14c18p12

The trainees have a chat after their training exercise. Jean complains about his targets being stolen (by Sasha and Connie), and made a remark regarding Eren – which yea, turns out to be true…Eren’s team during the Trost battle anyone? While everyone is praising Marco as being good leader material, Marco compliments Jean for having the potential to be the better leader. In the anime, the producer moved that (talk) to the gas-refilling scene.

C23- Reiner’s thought
c23p21

Here in the manga, Reiner noted to himself how (even) Jean has changed (for the better).

C26- Image within Eren’s mind
c26p30

From left to right: Marco, Connie, Annie, Armin, Sasha, Jean, Mikasa, Reiner, Berthold, Christa.
– Mikasa’s at the front most, then Armin, and then … Jean?
– Armin’s look of “I’m glad you’re alright”, Jean’s look of “don’t you fail on us”, Mikasa’s look of “Eren…”. Everyone’s in their post-trainee state, except Marco.

C28- His speculation
c27p08

This chat happens in another setting in the anime (not on tree).
